As we enter 2024, Navigate’s People First Podcast is celebrating 100 years! That’s right, today, Jeremy and Troy are overjoyed to welcome to the table 2 very special guests, gathering, in total, over a century’s worth of health and wellbeing experience and engagement. Together, they share their invaluable insights and perceived trends in HR, Health and Wellbeing from both the past year and into the future.
The first special guest is Navigate’s Vice President of Growth, Christy Smith, who has been working in HR, People and Culture for more than 25 years in a variety of industries of different sizes. Christy has been with Navigate for 2 years now, leading the Sales, Marketing and People and Culture Team. With Christy is Jim Barclay, Vice President of Operations, who has 8 years at Navigate under his belt leading the Client Operations Team, where he works with Client Services, the Account Management Team, and the Implementation Teams. Together, Christy and Jim possess a wealth of wisdom to share here today.
In our panel’s analysis of industry trends, this Dream Team covers everything from the personalization of HR to the rise of AI, exploring how technology and data are transforming HR practices. They also emphasize the importance of employee engagement, culture, and building relationships with doctors in this powerful first episode of this glorious new year.
"We have over 100 years of health and wellbeing and engagement at this table right now."
"Personalization is all about building a personalized experience for the people we rely on, the people that we're there to help in their wellbeing journey."
"The closer we can get to personalizing our benefit offerings, the better."
"Using data for good is all about putting the information that allows you to make an actionable decision in the HR professional's hands."
"Hyper-personalization is taking such a large data set... and collapsing all that into one package for a participant to understand really what they are."
"We're getting more involved with our clients, spending more time in a dispersed and multigenerational work environment."
"It's important to remember the value of human interaction.”
"Wellbeing is a must-have, no longer a nice-to-have."
"Just having a program that includes a walking challenge and talks about nutrition resources is not enough. The days of checking the box for wellbeing are over."
"Let us start with wellbeing and make it our primary focus so we can understand that when we meet people where they are, we take a people-first approach to our organization, culture, and leadership."
